The Malay people in Negeri Sembilan are known with the title "Orang Minang" or Minang People.This is because most of the people here are come from the Minangkabau people which can be found in the Minangkabau State,Sumatera.

ORIGIN

The traditional costume of Negeri Sembilan is a prominent feature from Minang people (Bukit Tinggi).The resplendent attire of the women consist of an exquisitely embroidered headdress shaped like a buffalo horn and an elaborate velvet shoulder cover displaying intricate needlework.

Baju Bundo Kanduang

 This costume is made of velvet fabric decorated with gold thread embroidery, beads and renders on the neck and sleeves and is further embellished with a decoration on the head which is Tengkolok Tanduk. This is the traditional dress of the Minangkabau people which is very famous in Negeri Sembilan.

Baju Pengantin Negeri Sembilan

The traditional wedding dresses worn by the Negeri Sembilan Malay brides of Adat Perpatih arer regularly made of of kain tenunan songket bunga tabur or fully laced.

Baju Kurung Ibu Soko 

This costume has a Telok Belanga neck with Tulang Belut stitches and has Tindih Kasih tie fabric. The cut of this shirt is in the shape of an umbrella, with pesak and kekerka. The fashion that Ibu Soko wears is different according to the district in Negeri Sembilan.

Baju Kebaya Setengah Tiang 

Typically, these outfits are paired with sarong batik shirts, which were quite fashionable in the early 1950s and frequently worn in public events.
